. It is the northernmost island of the Cyclades and is located at a sea passage on the border of the Southern and the Northern Aegean. This passage is known as the Kafireas Strait or Cavo D'Oro and separates the island from Euboea. A narrow channel also separates the island from Tinos (the Andros-Tinos Strait).
- The island has an oblong shape and its coastline is 177km long.
- It has rocky beaches and several coves that are protected against the wind. Andros is also surrounded by small rocky islets (Gavrionisia, Kapitita, Makedona, Tourlitis, Theotokos, Plati, Lagonisi, Prasouda and others).
