Gastronomy

Honey, wine and cheese are produced on the island. Try chick pea soup, ‘louza’ (pork cold cuts) and ‘marathotiganites’ (fennel pancakes). Of the desserts, ‘pasteli’ (honey and sesame seed candy) of Serifos is popular: The small rhombus leans on lemon tree leaves and has a deaned almond in the centre. It is the dessert that they offer as a treat after weddings. You will find it in packages in the stores.

-The festivity of the Women’s Society. If you happen to be in Serifos on August 6, you can take part in the festivity which is organized at the square of Evagelistria in Kato Chora by the Women’s Society “Andromeda”, with traditional dishes and desserts.
